Pretty good game!

We didn't have great attendance at the 2008 classic but some exciting new talent arrived on the field of play in the tiny persons of Marin V. Murphy and Megan R. Murphy both of whom displayed flashes of gridiron brilliance in the midst of the occasional diaper adjustment and binky fumble. Michael G. Murphy followed a sensational rookie season with a stellar sophomore performance. Check out the team pic!

Stop the presses

I was looking through some old images saved from e-mail and discovered this:

I'm pretty sure Chris came up with it a while ago. Are we looking at our 2008 logo? Anybody want to tweak the colors or anything? Talk to me, people!

practice makes perfect

hi family

i was wondering if anyone wanted to get together at the a-field for some turkey bowl practice? throw the ball around a little? johnny's wedding is coming up so i'm sure some of you are very busy this month.. but if it's possible would anyone like to get together? i think marin and i could really benefit from some running around in the nice fall weather! and cal, well, cal will probably fall asleep on the walk from the car to the field ...he is getting old :(

In-depth Research

I was looking for new ideas for the T-shirt logo while walking down Main St. past the state store and suddenly it occurred to me that at the first Thanksgiving, there were no domesticated turkeys, were there? Heck, no, there were only wild turkeys. Now here's the amazing part: As luck would have it, I looked around and almost immediately found a very good image of a wild turkey on a label on this bottle which, of course, I bought immediately.

So I've been looking at this thing for like an hour or two, and I'm now absatively convincified that this is, you know, the thing, right here. I spilled some while I was trying to get it in the scanner, so I better go lap, er, clean it up and try some more. Scanning, try some more scanning.

Turkey Bowl preparations

Well, while you guys have been figuring out the shirt design, Marin and I have been working on a secret playbook. I figure the secret is safe with her since she speaks gibberish and no one could understand the secret even if she tried to tell you. Plus, she's been filming your Turkey Bowl walk-throughs.

Oh, and I'm almost finished the retractable dome I've been working on.

Twelve weeks and counting

That's right, Turkey-bowlers, only eighty some days until kickoff! In years past we've goofed around oblivious to the march of time and ended up just kind of winging it. And if it was good enough for years past, it's good enough for now! No, seriously, we'd like everyone's input into the event so as to make it as cool and convenient as possible. Well, OK, I guess it couldn't get much cooler, but we might at least get some variation in the T-shirt design and artwork. So far there have been 3 designs: 1) the helmet-wearing turkey, 2) the football player catching the cooked turkey, and 3) most recently, the scared-stiff turkey. If you have any new artwork you'd like to use, send it in or post it. If it's hard copy and you don't know how to scan it, snail-mail it in. If you'd like a different colored jersey, let us know. If you just want to relive that one touchdown you scored after successfully juking Uncle Bill out of his athletic supporter, let's hear it. To quote the aforementioned jukee:

"LET'S GET READY TO FUMBLE!"
